Kim Jin-hwan, better known as Jinhwan or Jay, was born on July 2, 1994, in Jeju, South Korea. From a young age, he showed a passion for music and performance, which would eventually lead him to a successful career in the K-pop industry.
In 2011, Kim Jin-hwan's life changed when he was scouted by YG Entertainment, one of the biggest entertainment companies in South Korea. This marked the beginning of his journey in the music industry, as he joined forces with two other talented individuals to form what would later become the popular boy band, iKON.
Under the mentorship of YG Entertainment, Kim Jin-hwan and his bandmates underwent rigorous training to hone their singing, dancing, and stage presence. Their hard work paid off when they caught the attention of audiences after appearing on the 2013 competition series, Who Is Next: WIN.
