Kevin Stallings was born on January 10, 1960 in Collinsville, Illinois. Growing up, he developed a passion for basketball and dreamed of one day becoming a successful coach in the sport.
Stallings began his coaching career as an assistant for Purdue from 1982 until 1988. During his time with the Boilermakers, he honed his coaching skills and gained valuable experience working with talented players and coaches. He then moved on to serve as an assistant coach at Kansas, where he continued to learn and grow as a coach.
In 1993, Stallings got his first head coaching job with the Illinois State Redbirds. He led the team to success and gained recognition for his coaching abilities. In 1999, he was hired as the head coach of the Vanderbilt University Commodores, a position he held for many years. During his time at Vanderbilt, Stallings achieved great success and earned SEC Coach of the Year honors in both 2007 and 2010.
In 2016, Stallings decided to take on a new challenge and accepted the head coaching job at Pitt. Despite facing tough competition in the ACC, Stallings was determined to lead the team to success and make a name for himself at Pitt.
Stallings is known for his dedication to his family and his community. He is a loving husband and father, and he takes pride in being a positive role model for young athletes. In his free time, Stallings enjoys giving back to his community and mentoring aspiring basketball players.
