Karen Kwan, born on January 6, 1978, in California, is best known as the older sibling of Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan. Raised in California, Karen and Michelle were both coached by Frank Carroll during their childhood years. It was evident from a young age that both sisters had a natural talent for figure skating.
