Justine Wong-Orantes was born on June 10, 1995, in Torrance, California. She grew up in a sporty family and started playing volleyball at a young age. Wong-Orantes attended Los Alamitos High School in Cypress, California, where she excelled both academically and athletically.
During her high school years, Wong-Orantes played for the school's volleyball team, showcasing her exceptional skills as a libero. She also played club volleyball for Mizuno Long Beach, where she led her 16-U team to a Junior Olympics national championship.
After high school, Wong-Orantes continued to pursue her passion for volleyball at the collegiate level. She played for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she became one of the top liberos in the country. Wong-Orantes' outstanding performance on the court caught the attention of national team selectors, and she was eventually called up to represent the United States in international competitions.
