Justin Pierre, born on May 26, 1976, in Mahtomedi, Minnesota, developed a passion for music at a young age. He attended high school where he discovered indie rock and began to experiment with creating his own music. Pierre played in a band called Slide Coaster during his teenage years and even released an album in 1995.
Pierre's musical journey truly began when he founded the pop-punk band Motion City Soundtrack in 1997 with his bandmate Joshua Cain.
