Julien Maranda, born on October 13, 1986, in Montreal, Canada, knew from a young age that he was destined for a career in music. Growing up, he was exposed to a wide variety of musical genres, but it was electronic music that captured his heart and soul. With a natural talent for creativity and an innate passion for all things musical, it was only a matter of time before he would make a name for himself in the industry.
After completing high school, Maranda pursued a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the Université de Montréal, graduating in 2008. He then went on to attend the École du Barreau to further his legal studies. However, despite his success in the field of law, Maranda's true calling lay in the world of music.
In 2011, Maranda founded Kannibalen Records, a label that would go on to represent some of the most talented artists in the electronic music scene. It was during this time that he met Marc Chagnon and Patrick Barry, his future co-founders of Black Tiger Sex Machine (BTSM).
Maranda's venture into electronic music with BTSM marked a turning point in his career. With their aggressive and dark sound, BTSM quickly gained attention for their high-energy live shows. Maranda's role within the trio extended beyond just being a member - he also took on the responsibilities of co-founder and manager, ensuring the group's success both on and off the stage.
Together with BTSM, Maranda has released a number of albums and EPs, including the popular "Jack Dat Body" and "Destroy It." Their singles, such as "On the Run," "Hell Motel," and "Killzone," have garnered widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike.
Despite his busy schedule with BTSM and Kannibalen Records, Maranda still finds time for his family. He has a sister named Catherine, who has been a source of support and inspiration throughout his musical journey.
Maranda's work with BTSM has allowed him to collaborate with a variety of talented artists, including Hayden Capuozzo (Kayzo), Alborosie, Illenium, and Excision. These partnerships have further expanded his musical horizons and solidified his reputation as a respected figure in the electronic music community.
As he continues to push the boundaries of electronic music with BTSM and Kannibalen Records, Maranda remains dedicated to his craft, constantly striving to innovate and inspire. With his unique blend of creativity, passion, and talent, there is no doubt that Julien Maranda will leave a lasting impact on the world of music for years to come.
