Juliana Huxtable was born on December 29, 1987, in Texas. Growing up, she was raised by her mother, Kassadra, along with her two siblings. From a young age, Juliana showed a strong passion for the arts and creativity. This would later lead her to pursue a career as a performance artist.
After graduating from high school, Juliana went on to attend Bard College, where she studied and honed her skills in performance art. It was during her time at Bard that Juliana began to explore the intersections of race, gender, and identity through her work. She graduated in 2010 with a degree in Fine Arts.
Following her graduation, Juliana took on a job as a legal assistant for the ACLU's Racial Justice Program. It was during this time that she continued to immerse herself in the world of art and culture, drawing inspiration from her experiences working in social justice advocacy.
