Joshua Calhoun was born on April 4, 1986 in Elgin, Illinois. From a young age, he showed a passion for music and quickly learned to play the guitar and keyboard. He also had a talent for singing, which would later become a defining aspect of his musical career.
Joshua attended Judson University, where he pursued his love for music and honed his skills as a guitarist and vocalist. It was during his time at Judson University that the idea for forming a band first came about.
While studying at Judson University, Joshua met fellow musicians who shared his passion for contemporary Christian music. Together, they formed a band called The Least of These, which would later be rebranded as Citizen Way. Joshua's brother, Ben Calhoun, also joined the band as a vocalist.
After releasing albums such as Love Is the Evidence and 2.0, Citizen Way quickly gained popularity in the contemporary Christian music scene. Joshua's unique guitar and keyboard skills, combined with his soulful vocals, helped set the band apart from others in the industry.
Aside from his music career, Joshua is also a youth pastor at Central Christian Church in Beloit, Wisconsin. He is dedicated to sharing his faith with the younger generation and helping them navigate their spiritual journey.
Joshua is a loving husband to his wife Kaia and a dedicated father to their daughters. Despite his busy schedule with Citizen Way and his youth ministry work, he always makes time for his family and cherishes the moments they spend together.
