Josh Hart was born on March 6, 1995 in Maryland to parents Moses and Pat Hart. He grew up with two siblings and has always had a deep passion for basketball. From a young age, Hart showed promise on the court and quickly fell in love with the game.
During his time at Sidwell Friends School, Hart quickly made a name for himself as a standout basketball player. In his senior year, he averaged an impressive 24 points and 13 rebounds per game, solidifying his status as a top recruit for the class of 2013.
His stellar performance on the court caught the attention of college scouts, and Hart eventually committed to play basketball at Villanova University.
At Villanova, Hart became a key player for the team, helping lead them to an NCAA Championship in 2016. He was known for his scoring ability, averaging a team-best 15.5 points per game during his time at the university.
During the 2014-2015 season, his sophomore year, Hart was named both the Big East Sixth Man of the Year and the Big East Tournament's Most Outstanding Player. His exceptional play on the court earned him recognition as one of the top players in the conference.
After an impressive college career, Hart declared for the 2017 NBA Draft and was selected 30th overall by the Utah Jazz. However, he was then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he would begin his professional career.
