Joey Martin Feek was born on September 9, 1975, in Indiana. She discovered her love for music at a young age and began singing during a talent show in the 1st grade. Despite her passion for music, Joey initially pursued a career as a veterinarian's assistant after graduating from high school. She worked in this field for three years before finally making the decision to move to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1998 to chase her dreams of a career in the music industry.
It was in Nashville that Joey met her future husband, Rory Lee Feek. The two quickly realized they shared a love for music and country singing and decided to form the duo Joey + Rory. Their music captured the hearts of fans across the country, and they gained recognition for their soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics.
In 2008, Joey and Rory participated in the CMT reality competition series Can You Duet, where they finished in 3rd place. The experience solidified their bond as a couple and as a musical act, propelling them further into the spotlight.
Joey + Rory released their 7th and final studio album, "Hymns That Are Important to Us," on February 12, 2016. The album debuted at the top of the Billboard Country Albums chart, cementing their legacy in the music industry.
