Jimmy Riffle, born on October 8th, 1968 in the United States, had a unique childhood that set the stage for his future career as an alligator catcher. At the age of 11, he began working with native and exotic wildlife under the guidance of Mike "Skeet" Johns at the Native Village in Hollywood, Florida. It was here that Jimmy developed a passion for reptiles and a deep understanding of their behavior.
After graduating from South Plantation High School in Florida, Jimmy continued to hone his skills working with alligators and other wildlife. Little did he know that his experiences at the Native Village would shape his future in ways he never could have imagined.
Jimmy's big break came when he was cast in the hit reality series Gator Boys, which premiered in 2012. The show followed Jimmy and his team as they ventured into the Everglades and swamps of Florida to catch and relocate alligators that posed a threat to humans. His fearless approach to handling these dangerous reptiles soon made him a fan favorite.
In 2013, Jimmy made a guest appearance as the bartender on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, showcasing his charismatic personality and quick wit. Despite his newfound fame, Jimmy remained grounded and dedicated to his mission of protecting both wildlife and the people of Florida.
Jimmy's close bond with his family has been an integral part of his success. His younger brother, Andy Riffle, followed in his footsteps and also became an alligator catcher. Together, the Riffle brothers have continued the legacy of their mentor, Skeet, who passed away in 2005.
After Skeet's death, Jimmy took over the management of the Native Village and founded the Gator Boys Alligator Rescue, a sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating alligators in need. He also passed on his knowledge and skills to his younger brother, ensuring that the tradition of alligator catching would live on for future generations.
Outside of his work with alligators, Jimmy enjoys spending time with his parents, George and Kim Riffle, who have always supported his passion for wildlife. In his free time, he can often be found fishing and exploring the natural beauty of Florida.
Despite his tough exterior, Jimmy has a soft spot for animals and is known for his compassionate approach to handling alligators. His love for these creatures shines through in everything he does, making him a beloved figure in the world of wildlife conservation.
As Jimmy Riffle continues to make a difference in the lives of both humans and alligators, his legacy as a fearless alligator catcher and conservationist will undoubtedly live on for years to come.
