Jessie Mueller was born on February 20, 1983, in Evanston, Illinois, to parents Roger Mueller and Jill Shellabarger Mueller, both of whom were actors. Growing up in a creative household, it was no surprise that all three of her siblings, Matt, Andrew, and Abby, also pursued careers in acting.
After completing her high school education in Evanston, Jessie went on to study Theatre at Syracuse University in New York. It was during her time at university that she honed her craft and developed a passion for the stage.
