Jenny O’Hara was born on February 24, 1942 in California. She grew up in a creative household, as her mother, Edith Hopkins O'Hara, was the founder of New York’s 13th Street Repertory Company. Her sister, Jill O’Hara, also pursued a career in acting and the two even performed together in the Broadway production of Promises, Promises.
O’Hara briefly attended Carnegie-Mellon University, known as Carnegie Tech at the time, before relocating to New York to pursue her passion for acting. There, she trained with renowned acting teachers Sanford Meisner and Lee Strasberg, honing her craft and preparing for a successful career in the entertainment industry.
