Jeffrey Epstein was born on January 20, 1953, in New York City, NY. He grew up in Brooklyn with his parents and brother Mark. Despite not receiving a college degree, Epstein took on a job as a calculus and physics professor at the prestigious Dalton School. He was hired for this position by Donald Barr, a former member of the OSS and father of Attorney General William Barr.
Epstein's first criminal convictions date back to 2005 when he was charged with several sex crimes. He was later convicted of running an underage prostitution ring in 2008. He had direct ties to billionaires, politicians, media moguls, entertainers, and intelligence agencies.
Epstein posed as a financier and science philanthropist, claiming to have started out at Bear Stearns before allegedly founding his own financial management firms. However, his true source of wealth and power remained a mystery to many.
Throughout his life, Epstein had several long-term girlfriends, including heiress Ghislaine Maxwell, who was believed to be complicit in his sex trafficking ring. He also had former President Bill Clinton on his private plane an alleged 27 times.
In August 2019, Epstein died under suspicious circumstances while in prison. He was awaiting trial for more crimes at the time of his death.
Jeffrey Epstein's life and criminal activities have left a lasting impact on society. His case has raised questions about the power dynamics at play in wealthy and influential circles, as well as the justice system's handling of high-profile cases.
