Jason Chaffetz was born on March 26, 1967, in California. He grew up alongside his younger brother Alex, moving around the states of California, Arizona, and Colorado. In the mid-1980s, Chaffetz made his way to Utah to attend Brigham Young University, where he played as a placekicker for the football team.
After his college years, Chaffetz entered the business world, working in communications and marketing within the local Utah community. In 2008, he transitioned into politics, representing Utah's 3rd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives.
