Isaac Delahaye was born on September 1, 1982 in Ypres, Belgium. From a young age, he had a deep passion for music and began playing the guitar at the age of 11 when he received his first electric guitar. Growing up in Ypres, he was exposed to various musical influences and became involved in the local music scene, playing in different bands throughout his childhood.
After completing his education, Isaac decided to pursue his love for music further by studying it in college. During this time, he honed his skills as a guitarist and songwriter, preparing himself for a career in the music industry. His hard work and dedication paid off when he joined the symphonic metal band Epica, where he gained recognition for his exceptional guitar skills.
Isaac's talent as a guitarist led him to become the lead guitarist for God Dethroned from 2004 to 2009, solidifying his place in the metal music scene. In 2018, he launched the College of Metal, an online platform dedicated to educating aspiring musicians about metal music. Through this initiative, he has shared his knowledge and expertise with a global audience, further establishing himself as a figurehead in the metal community.
Aside from his musical endeavours, Isaac is also a devoted family man. In 2021, he and his partner Katrien welcomed their first son, Noah, into the world. This new chapter in his life has brought him joy and fulfillment, balancing his professional success with his personal happiness.
Throughout his career, Isaac has been inspired by legendary guitarists such as Yngwie Malmsteen, whom he admires as a hero. He credits these icons with shaping his musical style and influencing his approach to music.
