Irina Krush was born on December 24, 1983, in Ukraine. At the age of five, her parents made the decision to immigrate to the United States and settled in Brooklyn. It was during this time that Irina first discovered her love for chess, a game that would ultimately shape her future in ways she could have never imagined.
Irina began playing chess at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the most promising players in the country. In 1998, she made history by becoming the youngest U.S. Women's Champion of all time, a title she would go on to win three more times in 2007, 2010, and 2012.
Her skill and talent in the game did not go unrecognized, and in 2013, FIDE ranked her as the best American female chess player. Irina's strategic prowess and dedication to the game have solidified her status as one of the top players in the world.
