Imase was born on September 11, 2000, in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Growing up, he was heavily influenced by the music his parents played during car rides, particularly songs from the band Omega Tribe. Despite his initial plans to take over his parents' business in Gifu, Imase found his true passion in music.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Imase found himself inspired by musical artists creating songs on TikTok. Despite having no prior musical experience, at the age of 20, he decided to teach himself through online tutorials and practice diligently until he was able to create his own music. Just a year later, he released his first viral song on social media, marking the beginning of his musical journey.
Imase quickly gained recognition for his unique sound and self-produced music. His single "Night Dancer" became the first J-Pop song to reach Korea's Melon Top 100 chart, showcasing his growing popularity beyond Japan. Songs like "n1ght" and "Nostalgia" further solidified his fanbase, drawing in over 1.6 million followers to his TikTok account.
In 2021, Imase made his official debut with a major record label, releasing hit songs like "Have a Nice Day" and "Touhikou," which topped the TikTok Hot Song Weekly Ranking on Billboard Japan. His innovative approach to music and his ability to connect with a global audience have set him apart in the industry.
In a 2023 interview with Goethe Magazine, Imase revealed some of his favorite musical artists, including Justin Bieber, Ruel, The Weeknd, Kwon Hyuk, and Gen Hoshino. He credits these artists with shaping his own musical style and inspiring his creative process.
