Hu Bing was born on February 14, 1971, in Hangzhou, China. He comes from a family with a military background, as both of his parents served in the armed forces. He also has an older brother, Hu Dong, who is also a well-known actor, model, and singer in China.
At the age of 11, Hu Bing started training to become a professional sculler. His dedication and hard work paid off when he won the Chinese National Rowing Championship in the men's single scull event at just 16 years old. Following his success in rowing, he attended the Zhejiang Provincial Athletic Institute where he majored in health education and sports psychology.
After his time at the athletic institute, Hu Bing went on to join China's national rowing team and competed at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. Unfortunately, his Olympic dreams were cut short when he suffered a back injury from overtraining in 1990.
Despite this setback, Hu Bing's journey to success was far from over. In 1991, he took the fashion world by storm by winning the prestigious Top Chinese Male Model title. He made history as the first Chinese male model to walk the international fashion runways, paving the way for future Asian models in the industry.
Transitioning from the world of sports to entertainment, Hu Bing found success in acting, modeling, singing, designing, and producing. He has starred in various television series and films, including the 2018 movie Air Strike alongside Hollywood star Bruce Willis.
One of his most recent projects is the 2021 Chinese television series Love Scenery, where he stars alongside Lin Yi. Throughout his career, Hu Bing has gained a significant following on social media, with over 700,000 followers on Instagram and more than 2 million on Facebook.
