Aside from his musical career, Roloff also had a fulfilling personal life. He was married to Inge Roloff, with whom he had three sons. Each of his sons followed in their father's footsteps and pursued careers in the arts. Stefan became a filmmaker, Ulrich a flutist, and Johannes a pianist.
