Harley Rayner, born on December 24, 1988, in Auckland, New Zealand, was destined for a career in music. Growing up with a family of talented musicians, he was exposed to music at a very young age. His father, Eddie Rayner, a professional keyboardist who played for the popular group Split Endz, instilled a love for music in Harley from the start.
Harley's musical journey began as a solo artist, where he honed his craft and developed his unique sound. In 2008, fate brought him together with Jesse Cooper, and the duo formed the now-famous dubstep and EDM crew Mt. Eden. Their collaboration was an instant success, and they quickly gained recognition in the music industry.
Harley and Jesse drew inspiration from local artists such as Benga and Skream, which helped them evolve their sound from hip hop to electronic music. This shift proved to be a turning point in their careers, as they started experimenting with new sounds and styles, eventually leading to the creation of their popular singles "Still Alive", "Silence", and the viral hit song "Sierra Leone".
Harley's talent did not go unnoticed, and he soon caught the attention of the Ultra Records Label, earning him representation and opening up new opportunities for his music. He gained further recognition when he performed at Australia's largest interactive music event, Odyssey Festival, in December of 2018, alongside fellow DJ Tyron Hapi.
