Greg Weissert was born on April 2, 1995 in Long Island, New York. He grew up in Bay Shore, where he attended Bay Shore High School. During his time at Bay Shore High, Weissert was a standout athlete, playing three years of varsity baseball and volleyball.
After graduating from high school, Weissert went on to attend Fordham University, where he played college baseball for three years. His talent on the field did not go unnoticed, as he was eventually drafted by the New York Yankees during the 18th round of the 2016 Major League Draft.
