Gizmo Williams was born on May 31, 1962, in Memphis, Tennessee. He experienced a difficult childhood, as both of his parents passed away when he was young. Williams was raised by his older brother Edgar, who took on the responsibility of caring for him. Tragically, Edgar also passed away, leaving Williams in the care of his aunt.
Williams attended East Carolina University, where he played football and excelled as a wide receiver and kick returner. His talent on the field caught the attention of professional football teams, and in 1989, he signed with the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles.
Although Williams initially joined the Eagles, he found even more success playing in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Known for his speed and agility, he quickly became a fan favorite and a standout player in the league.
