Francesco Acerbi was born on October 2, 1988, in Milan, Italy. Growing up in Lombardy, just a few miles south of Milan, he showed a passion for soccer from a young age. He began his journey in the sport by playing for A.C. Pavia 1911 S.S.D. youth squad, where he honed his skills and developed a deep love for the game.
After showcasing his talent at the youth level, Acerbi signed with Pavia's senior club in 2006. It was here that he started to make a name for himself in the world of professional soccer. With dedication and hard work, he quickly climbed the ranks and caught the attention of scouts from top Italian clubs.
Acerbi's stellar performances on the field led him to join U.S. Sassuolo Calcio in the Serie A league, where he continued to display his defensive prowess. His impressive skills as a center-back did not go unnoticed, and in July 2018, he was signed by S.S. Lazio, a prestigious Italian Serie A club.
Off the field, Acerbi enjoys spending time with his wife, Claudia, and their three children. Despite his demanding schedule as a professional soccer player, he makes sure to prioritize his family and create lasting memories with his loved ones.
One of Acerbi's memorable career moments includes scoring his first international goal during a UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers match against Bosnia and Herzegovina on November 15, 2010. This milestone showcased his versatility as a defender and his ability to contribute offensively when needed.
In a move that further solidified his status as one of the top defenders in the league, Acerbi joined Inter Milan in 2023, where he continues to excel at the highest level of Italian soccer. Playing alongside talented teammates such as Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Acerbi's skill and leadership on the field have been instrumental in the team's success.
