Folake Olowofoyeku was born on October 26, 1983 in Nigeria to parents Felicia and Babatunji Olowofoyeku. She is the youngest of 20 children and grew up in a large, bustling family. Olowofoyeku spent her formative years in Benin City, where she attended a boarding school before transferring to Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls in Ikeja, Lagos. She later continued her education at Oxbridge Tutorial College.
After completing her studies in Nigeria, Olowofoyeku made the bold decision to emigrate to the United States at the age of 18. She pursued her Bachelor's degree at City College of New York, where she not only focused on her academics but also discovered a passion for basketball. Olowofoyeku's athletic abilities earned her recognition on the court, showcasing her versatility as both a scholar and an athlete.
