Eyioma Uwazurike was born on June 5, 1998, in Detroit, Michigan, where he grew up with his family. As a young athlete, Eyioma attended Southfield-Lathrup High School, where he excelled in football. Despite being a three-star prospect, he quickly made a name for himself as a two-time defensive MVP.
After high school, Eyioma went on to play college football at Iowa State University, where he became a four-year starter. During his time at Iowa State, he was known for his versatility as a defender and was named to the first team All-Big 12 after the 2021 season.
