Erika Karpuk was born on December 21, 1977, in Brazil. From a young age, she displayed a passion for creativity and design. Growing up, she would rearrange her bedroom constantly, experimenting with different layouts and color schemes. This early interest in interior design would ultimately shape her future career.
After graduating from high school, Erika pursued her love for design by enrolling in Anhanguera University. There, she studied interior design and honed her skills in creating beautiful and functional spaces. Her education provided her with a strong foundation in design principles and techniques that would later serve her well in her professional endeavors.
After completing her degree, Erika began her career as an interior designer. She worked under the renowned designer Marcelo Rosenbaum for five years, gaining valuable experience and insights into the industry. Her time working with Rosenbaum shaped her approach to design and instilled in her a passion for creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also sustainable and conscious of consumption.
In 2006, Erika decided to strike out on her own and founded the DeKor Affordable Decoration Project. This virtual design and consultant company aimed to make quality design accessible to a wider audience. Through her company, Erika offered affordable design services to clients, helping them transform their spaces into stylish and functional environments.
One of Erika's most notable achievements is her Youtube show, The EKTube. On the show, she shares instructional videos focused on sustainable design and conscious consumption. Through her videos, Erika educates her viewers on how to design and decorate their spaces in a way that is environmentally friendly and socially responsible.
Erika's talent and dedication to sustainable design have not gone unnoticed. She was inspired to create The EKTube after gaining popularity for a series of DIY videos she created for the magazine Casa & Jardim. Her unique approach to design and her commitment to creating eco-friendly spaces have earned her a loyal following and recognition in the design community.
Outside of her career, Erika is also a devoted mother. In 2010, she welcomed twins Lorenzo and Olivia into the world. Balancing her role as a mother with her career as a designer, Erika finds inspiration in her family and strives to create a home that is both comfortable and stylish for her loved ones.
