Eric Reid was born on October 12, 1991 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to parents Eric and Sharon Reid. Growing up, he showed a natural talent for football and began playing at a young age. He attended Dutchtown High School where he excelled on the football field, earning All-State honors during his senior year.
After high school, Reid went on to play college football at Louisiana State University (LSU). During his time at LSU, he made a name for himself as a standout player in the secondary. In 2012, he was named an All-American and earned First-Team All-SEC honors. Reid's impressive college career caught the attention of NFL scouts, leading to his selection as the 18th overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft.
Upon entering the NFL, Reid joined the San Francisco 49ers and made an immediate impact. In his rookie season, he made the Pro Bowl and solidified his place as a starting safety for the team.
