Eric Cong Phan is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner born on August 14, 1995, in Toronto, Canada. At the young age of ten, he discovered his passion for martial arts through studying taekwondo. As he grew older, he expanded his martial arts repertoire to include Muay Thai, karate, and boxing. However, it was not until July of 2010 that he discovered his true calling in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Eric's dedication and hard work paid off when he became the Europeans Purple Belt Champion in 2014. He continued to excel in the sport, winning first place in the 2012 IBJJF Toronto Open Juvenile. His most recent victory came in 2019 when he took home first place in the IBJJF Toronto Open.
Eric's favorite technique in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the rear naked choke, a move that he has perfected through years of training and dedication. He is known for his exceptional skills on the mat, thanks to his rigorous training regimen and commitment to the sport. As part of the Jiu-Jitsu For Life team, Eric continues to push himself to new heights in his martial arts journey.
Despite his busy schedule as a professional martial artist, Eric values his family and roots in Canada. He was born and raised in Toronto, where he continues to inspire and motivate others with his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In his spare time, you can often find Eric doing pullups on a bar in his gym, showcasing his strength and dedication to his craft.
