Emma Smetana was born on November 2, 1988 in Prague, Czech Republic. She grew up in Prague before later moving to Paris. Her parents are Monica Mac Donagh Pajer and George Smetana.
After spending some time in Paris, Emma Smetana moved to Strasbourg where she spent four years. During this time, she honed her language skills and became fluent in French, English, and German. She also learned to speak Spanish and some Hebrew.
