Elijah Higgins, born on October 27, 2000, in Tampa, Florida, moved to Austin, Texas with his parents at a young age. Growing up in Austin, he attended Bowie High School, where he excelled as a three-sport athlete. With his impressive athleticism, Higgins quickly caught the attention of scouts and was considered a four-star prospect in high school.
After graduating from Bowie High School, Higgins went on to attend Stanford University, where he continued to showcase his talents both on the field and in the classroom. During his time at Stanford, Higgins was a three-time member of the All PAC-12 All-Academic team, demonstrating his dedication to both his studies and his sport.
In 2023, Higgins was selected by the Miami Dolphins as a sixth-round pick in the NFL draft. Although he was initially chosen by the Dolphins, he was later waived by the team and picked up by the Arizona Cardinals in August of the same year. Higgins made his official NFL debut during week one of the 2023 regular season, playing against the Washington Commanders. Despite his efforts, Higgins and the Cardinals were unable to secure a win, falling to the Commanders with a score of 20-16.
Standing tall at 6'3" and weighing just shy of 240 pounds, Higgins possesses the size and strength necessary to excel as a tight end and wide receiver in the NFL. His physical presence on the field makes him a formidable opponent for any defense.
As the oldest of three siblings, Higgins has always been a role model for his younger brothers and sister. Despite being born in Tampa, Florida, Higgins considers Austin, Texas to be his home, where he lived with his parents and siblings throughout his childhood.
Aside from his impressive athletic achievements, Higgins is also known for his academic prowess, having been a standout student-athlete during his time at Stanford. In addition, he shares his collegiate alma mater with notable NFL players such as Andrew Luck and Richard Sherman, further solidifying his place among the elite athletes of his generation.
