Earl Elkins was born on October 26, 1980 in Orlando, Florida. He attended Lake Howell High School where he discovered his passion for music. After high school, he further pursued his musical aspirations by studying at Valencia Community College in Orlando.
During his time at Lake Howell High School, Earl Elkins formed a close friendship with Geoff Castellucci and Layne Stein. The trio shared a love for a cappella music and decided to form their own group. In 2013, they officially established VoicePlay, an a cappella quintet that quickly gained recognition for their innovative sound.
With Earl Elkins' impressive vocal abilities and stage presence, VoicePlay began performing at various venues in Orlando, including Disney World and Universal Orlando. Their unique blend of harmonies and beatboxing caught the attention of audiences and music industry professionals alike.
