Dylan Carter was born on January 30, 1996, in Trinidad and Tobago. Growing up in Coral Springs, Florida, he showed a natural talent for swimming at a young age. His parents encouraged his passion for the sport, and he quickly began to excel in local competitions.
As he entered high school, Carter's reputation as a standout swimmer grew. In 2013, he made headlines when he broke the Trinidad and Tobago record for the 400-meter freestyle while still a high school student. This accomplishment caught the attention of college scouts, and he soon became one of the most sought-after recruits in the country.
Carter ultimately chose to attend the University of Southern California (USC), where he joined the Trojans swim team. In his first two years at USC, he quickly made a name for himself, winning a total of three NCAA championships.
