Dwayne Haskins was a talented quarterback who made a name for himself both in college football and in the NFL. Born on March 3, 1997 in New Jersey, he showed early promise in the sport and quickly rose to prominence as a standout player.
Haskins attended the Bullis School where he showcased his skills on the football field. He passed for an impressive 5,308 yards and completed 54 touchdowns during his time there, setting the stage for a successful future in the sport.
After high school, Haskins went on to play college football at Ohio State University. During his time with the Buckeyes, he set school records for most passing yards in a single game and most passing touchdowns in a single game. His talent and hard work earned him recognition as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week multiple times in 2018.
In 2019, Haskins was selected 15th overall in the NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins (now known as the Washington Football Team). He quickly made an impact on the team and showed promise as a rising star in the league.
In 2021, Haskins joined the Pittsburgh Steelers where he continued to impress with his skills on the field. However, tragedy struck in April of 2022 when he was involved in a fatal accident with a dump truck. Haskins passed away at the young age of 24, leaving behind a legacy of talent and potential.
Outside of football, Haskins was known for his close relationship with his family. His father, also named Dwayne, and his mother, Tamara, provided unwavering support throughout his career. Haskins was also married to Kalabrya Haskins, showing a commitment to his loved ones both on and off the field.
