Donovan Wilson was born on February 21, 1995 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Growing up, he lived with his family in the city of Shreveport. Wilson attended Woodlawn High School where he quickly made a name for himself as a standout athlete. He was considered a three-star prospect and was awarded the Shreveport All-City Defensive Player of the Year in 2014. During his senior year, Wilson put up impressive numbers with 70 tackles, 13 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, 57 receptions for 860 yards, and 9 touchdowns.
After high school, Wilson went on to play college football at Texas A&M University. As a senior, he received the Texas A&M's Aggie Heart Award and the Defensive Leadership Award, showcasing his skills and leadership qualities on and off the field. He was coached by Jimbo Fisher during his time at Texas A&M, further honing his abilities and preparing him for the next level.
In 2019, Donovan Wilson was selected by the Dallas Cowboys as a sixth round pick in the NFL draft. He made his official NFL debut during week ten of the 2019 regular season against the Minnesota Vikings, where he collected one tackle in a 28-24 Cowboys loss.
