Dominic Thomas, also known as Legacy, was born on December 10, 1991 in Hesperia, California. Growing up in a supportive family, he developed a passion for music at a young age. At just eight years old, he started rapping and quickly realized his talent for lyrical expression.
Despite his love for music, Dominic initially had dreams of becoming a professional football player. He even had plans to play for San Diego State before realizing that his true calling was in the world of hip hop. It was during his high school years in Hesperia that he met his future musical partner, Earl Benjamin.
As a duo, Dominic and Earl formed the hip hop group New Boyz and quickly gained popularity in the music scene. In 2009, they released their breakthrough single "You're a Jerk," which became a nationwide hit. The success of the song propelled them into the spotlight and solidified their place in the industry.
Following their initial success, New Boyz continued to release music that resonated with their fans. Their second single, "Tie Me Down," featured singer Ray J and further showcased their ability to create catchy and infectious tracks.
