Devon Wylie was born on February 9, 1988 in California. He grew up with his brother Doug and his sister Dene. From a young age, Wylie showed a natural talent for sports, particularly football. He excelled at the sport throughout his childhood and high school years, catching the attention of college scouts.
Wylie attended Fresno State University, where he continued to impress on the football field. His senior season in 2011 was particularly outstanding, as he recorded 56 receptions for 716 yards and one touchdown. His performance that season caught the eye of NFL scouts and earned him a spot in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Wylie was drafted in the fourth round by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012. Throughout his professional career, he would go on to be a member of 10 different teams. Despite being signed by multiple teams, Wylie only actually played for two of them. He briefly returned kicks and punts for the Tennessee Titans in 2013.
