Demetrius Morton, known by his stage name King Soloman, was born on September 7, 1983 in Danville, Illinois. He grew up in nearby Rantoul, where he met his future music partner, Raynard Glass, also known as Proverb The Preacher Man, at Rantoul Township High School.
After graduating from Rantoul Township High School, Demetrius went on to pursue a college degree in music at Illinois State University. It was during this time that his passion for music and performance began to flourish.
Demetrius and Raynard formed the Christian hip-hop group Hostyle Gospel in 2003. With their unique blend of faith-based lyrics and hip-hop beats, they quickly gained a loyal following in the local music scene. In 2005, they were joined by Fontaine Pizza, further solidifying their sound and message.
Aside from his role as a performer, Demetrius is also one of the owners of the record label Hostyle Gospel Ministry. This platform allows him to elevate and support other Christian artists in sharing their message through music.
In addition to his music career, Demetrius also owns an exercise business called Strength 2 Live. Through this venture, he promotes physical health and wellness as an essential part of a balanced lifestyle.
On July 21, 2012, Demetrius married Breanna Morton Whittum. Together, they welcomed a daughter named Ella Morton in 2014. Family is a central focus for Demetrius, and he finds inspiration in the love and support of his wife and daughter.
