David Villar, born on January 27, 1997, in Atlanta, Georgia, grew up in the sunny city of Pembroke Pines, Florida, with his family. He is the oldest of two siblings and has always had a passion for baseball from a young age.
After excelling in high school, Villar went on to play college baseball at the University of South Florida. During his time there, he showcased his exceptional skills as a third baseman, catching the attention of professional scouts.
In 2018, Villar was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 11th round of the Major League Draft. He began his professional career playing for the AZL Giants rookie affiliate team before being promoted to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes.
