David Freese was born on April 28, 1983, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He grew up in Wildwood, Missouri, and attended Lafayette High School. He was a talented athlete from a young age, excelling in both baseball and basketball.
After graduating from high school, Freese had a difficult decision to make. He had received a scholarship to play college baseball, but instead, he decided to take a year off to focus on his game and potentially enter the Major League Baseball draft.
After a year of intense training and preparation, Freese was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 9th round of the 2006 MLB Draft. He worked his way up through the minor leagues, honing his skills and proving himself as a valuable player.
Freese made his MLB debut in 2009 with the St. Louis Cardinals. Over the next few years, he established himself as a solid third baseman with a powerful bat. However, it wasn't until 2011 that he truly made a name for himself.
Freese played a pivotal role in the St. Louis Cardinals' run to the World Series Championship in 2011. He was a postseason hero, delivering clutch hits and making memorable defensive plays. His performance earned him the World Series MVP award.
In 2014, Freese was traded to the Los Angeles Angels, where he continued to be a productive player. He was then traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016, before signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2018. Throughout his career, Freese proved himself to be a valuable asset to any team he played for.
Off the field, Freese is a devoted husband to his wife, Mairin. The couple married in 2016 and have built a life together outside of baseball. Freese is also close with his parents, Guy and Lynn, who have supported him throughout his career.
David Freese will always be remembered for his incredible performance in the 2011 World Series and his contributions to the teams he played for. He may not have become a full-time starter until later in his career, but once he did, he proved himself to be a force to be reckoned with on the field.
