Daniel Kongos was born on August 28, 1988 in London, England, to renowned recording artist John Kongos and his wife Shelley. Growing up in a musically inclined family, it was no surprise that Daniel and his three brothers, Johnny, Jesse, and Dylan, all showed a natural talent for music from a young age.
John Kongos, their father, was a highly respected musician in his own right, and he passed down his love for music to his sons. From a young age, the Kongos brothers were exposed to a wide range of musical influences, which helped shape their unique sound as musicians.
Although all four brothers initially started out playing the piano, it was Daniel who eventually gravitated towards the guitar. He was inspired by the legendary guitarist Jeff Beck and dedicated himself to mastering the instrument. In 2007, Daniel and his brothers officially formed the alternative rock band Kongos.
While the band had been playing together for several years, it wasn't until 2011 that they experienced mainstream success. The release of their chart-topping single "Come With Me Now" catapulted them into the spotlight, earning them widespread recognition and acclaim.
The success of "Come With Me Now" not only solidified Kongos' place in the music industry but also opened up numerous opportunities for the band. They embarked on worldwide tours, sharing the stage with renowned acts such as Kings of Leon and Young The Giant.
One of Kongos' most notable achievements was having their hit song "Come With Me Now" featured in various forms of popular culture. From being used as the theme song for WWE's Extreme Rules to appearing on the television show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, the band's music resonated with audiences across different platforms.
Despite their rapid rise to fame, Daniel and his brothers remained grounded in their roots. Their close-knit family upbringing and mutual love for music served as the foundation for their success. The band's passion for creating music that resonated with listeners was evident in their work.
