Dane Schmidt, professionally known as Jamestown Story, was born on February 15, 1985 in Duluth, Minnesota. Growing up, he developed a passion for music and began writing songs at a young age. In 2003, Schmidt formed the band Jamestown Story, where he served as the lead singer and primary songwriter. The band quickly gained a following with their heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies. However, in 2007, the band disbanded, leading Schmidt to make the decision to continue his music career as a solo artist under the name Jamestown Story.
Between the years 2008 and 2013, Schmidt released several albums as Jamestown Story, including Love vs. Life, Find A Way, Show Me Tomorrow, and A Jamestown Story Christmas.
