Dakoda Shepley was born on December 27, 1994 in Ontario, Canada. He grew up in a tight-knit family and developed a passion for football at a young age. Shepley attended the University of British Columbia, where he played college football and honed his skills on the field.
After graduating from college, Shepley was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Jets in 2018. Despite not making a regular season appearance with the Jets, he caught the eye of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League and was drafted by them in the same year.
