While attending Mountain View High School, Hodges excelled as a two-sport athlete, participating in football and basketball. Despite being considered a three-star recruit, he showcased his talent on the field and caught the attention of college scouts.
After graduating from high school, Hodges continued his football career at Arizona State University. He made a name for himself as a talented tight end, earning recognition as an All-Big 12 honorable mention following his impressive 2021 season.
In 2022, Hodges signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent, marking the beginning of his NFL journey. He made his NFL debut during week one of the 2022 preseason against the Carolina Panthers, where he caught three passes for eleven yards in a close 23-21 loss.
