Chryssie Whitehead was born on September 3, 1980, in Columbia, South Carolina. Growing up in the south, she developed a passion for performing from a young age. During her freshman year of high school, she took the stage in a community theatre production of A Chorus Line, sparking her love for musical theatre.
After high school, Whitehead pursued her dream of performing on Broadway. She made her debut in the 2006 revival of A Chorus Line, playing the role of Kristine. Her performance was met with critical acclaim, leading to more opportunities on the Great White Way.
In addition to A Chorus Line, Whitehead also appeared in Broadway's Chicago, showcasing her versatility as a performer. She later starred alongside Neil Patrick Harris in Stephen Sondheim's Company with the New York Philharmonic, further solidifying her reputation as a talented stage actress.
Outside of the theatre, Whitehead has made a name for herself on television.
