Chris Robertson was born on April 6, 1985 in Edmonton, Kentucky. Growing up in a small town, he quickly developed a love for music. At a young age, he picked up the guitar and began honing his skills, dreaming of one day becoming a rock star.
It was during his teenage years that Robertson met his future bandmate, John Fred Young. The two bonded over their mutual love for music and decided to start a band together. Little did they know that this would be the beginning of a successful musical journey.
Robertson and Young, along with two other members, formed the band Black Stone Cherry. Drawing inspiration from classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd, they set out to create their own unique sound.
After years of hard work and dedication, Black Stone Cherry finally caught their big break. Their debut album, "Folklore and Superstition," was released in 2008 and quickly climbed to the top of the U.K. rock album charts. This was just the beginning of their rise to fame.
Over the years, Black Stone Cherry continued to release hit albums, including "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea," which also reached number one on the U.K. rock album charts. Their unique blend of hard rock and Southern influences resonated with fans all over the world.
Despite their success, Robertson battled his own personal demons. In a candid interview with The You Rock Foundation, he opened up about his struggles with depression and a suicide attempt. This raw honesty only added to his credibility as a rock star who wasn't afraid to show his vulnerability.
Outside of music, Robertson is a loving husband and father. His family has been his rock through the ups and downs of his career, providing him with the love and support he needs to keep going.
In 2013, Black Stone Cherry had the opportunity to open for Bad Company, fronted by the legendary Paul Rodgers. This was a dream come true for Robertson and the band, solidifying their status as rock icons in their own right.
Chris Robertson's journey from small-town boy to rock star is a testament to the power of perseverance and passion. His talent and dedication have earned him a place among the greats in the music industry, and his story serves as an inspiration to aspiring musicians everywhere.
