Chot Reyes was born on January 8, 1963 in Quezon City, Philippines. Growing up, he had a passion for basketball and dreamed of becoming a coach. He started his career in the sport as an assistant to head coach Earl Timothy Cone with the Alaska Milkmen, where he learned the ins and outs of coaching at the professional level.
Reyes made a name for himself as a basketball coach in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). From 1993 to 2012, he achieved great success by winning a total of eight PBA titles with teams like Purefoods TJ Hotdogs and Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters. His leadership and coaching prowess led to him being named PBA Coach of the Year five times, making him the first PBA coach to have won more than two Coach of the Year awards.
Aside from his successful coaching career, Reyes also values his family. He has three children named Rebekah, Josh Reyes, and Isaiah Reyes. Despite his busy schedule and demanding career, he always makes time for his family and his children's activities.
Throughout his career, Reyes had the opportunity to coach some of the most talented players in the PBA. One of his notable achievements was coaching Jimmy Alapag to PBA titles with the Texters.
