Chip, born Jahmaal Noel Fyffe on November 26, 1990, in Tottenham, London, is a British rapper who first rose to prominence in the grime scene in 2006 under the moniker Chipmunk. He was raised in a Jamaican household with his parents and two siblings, a younger sister, and a brother.
Chip began his music career at a young age, releasing his first hit "Who Are You" in 2006. This early success paved the way for his debut album, I Am Chipmunk, which was released in 2009 to critical acclaim. The album featured popular tracks such as "Diamond Rings" and "Oopsy Daisy."
