Charlie Lowell is an American pianist born on October 21, 1973 in Rochester, New York. He is best known for his work as the former pianist and keyboardist for the Christian alternative folk rock group Jars of Clay. Lowell has since gone on to release music under the name Hollow // Hum and with the band, Birds of Norway.
Lowell graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School in 1994 before going on to study music at Greenville University. It was during his time at Greenville University that he honed his musical skills and embarked on a career in the music industry.
Lowell's music career took off when he joined Jars of Clay as their pianist and keyboardist.
