Carlos Rivero was born on May 20, 1988 in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. From a young age, he showed a natural talent for baseball and dreamed of one day playing in the big leagues.
At the age of 17, Rivero was signed by the Cleveland Indians as an international free agent in 2005. He spent several years in the minor leagues, honing his skills and working his way up through the ranks.
In 2014, Rivero made his major league debut with the Boston Red Sox. He was primarily used as a third baseman, but he also played for Venezuelan League clubs Leones del Caracas, Bravos de Margarita, and Cardenales de Lara during the offseason.
Throughout his career, Rivero showcased his versatility by transitioning from a shortstop to a third baseman. His defensive skills and strong arm made him a valuable asset to any team he played for.
Off the field, Rivero is a devoted family man. He and his wife welcomed twin daughters, Carla and Barbara, in 2011. His family has been his rock and support system throughout his baseball career.
However, tragedy struck in December 2018 when Rivero was involved in a car crash that claimed the lives of two people, including former MLB player Luis Valbuena. Rivero survived the accident but was deeply affected by the loss of his friend and teammate.
Despite the challenges he has faced, Rivero remains dedicated to his baseball career. He continues to work hard, both on and off the field, to prove himself as a valuable player and teammate.
Today, Rivero is focused on giving back to his community and inspiring the next generation of baseball players. He is actively involved in charity work and youth mentoring programs, using his platform to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
